Louis XIV of France

Thursday 2nd November 2017 at the St Andrews Centre.

Alison’s talk will look at style and character in paintings from the reign of the dictatorial French King Louis XIV to the 20th century. We will look at a range of paintings by such artists as Poussin and Picasso, Claude and Constable, Chardin and Cézanne noting how artistic expression has had to struggle to be free. Time : 2.00pm (tea / coffee) for 2.30pm start. A charge of £2 will cover hall hire and refreshments. Please contact me as soon as possible, with your £2 to book your place.
