Opportunities are available to join new and different groups with the neighbouring u3as of Broxbourne, Buntingford, Lea Valley, Waltham Abbey and Ware. The Group Sharing agreement allows Hertford and District u3a members to join selected groups in these u3as without becoming a member of that U3A. The idea is to assist groups which may be struggling for members or to make groups viable.

Conditions for Hertford group participation in Sharing agreement (EHSA)
- It is the group leader's decision, with agreement from the Hertford U3a Executive Committee, to open their interest group to other members of the listed local u3as.
- The group leader must be a member of Hertford u3a.
- Their group will be added to the EHSA list on the Hertford U3a website which can be accessed by the other u3as. (EHSA list)
- The group leader will be responsible for checking that any non-Hertford members are paid-up members of one of the partner u3as listed above. They are required to keep an up-to-date list of their non-Hertford members names, membership numbers and contact details. This information will not be stored on the Hertford membership database.
- If a group becomes oversubscribed, the group would leave the sharing agreement and any non-Hertford members would be asked to join Hertford u3a. This is to be made clear to them when they initially join the group.
